PSAT/NMSQT

Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test

October 2024 (Details to be announced later)

All juniors are automatically registered for this exam

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is administered annually at Grayslake Central High School to all juniors.  The PSAT/NMSQT is the only exam that can qualify a student for potential National Merit consideration.

Students will be testing on their GCHS-issued Chromebooks at GCHS during the regularly scheduled school day.  After testing has completed, students will return to class. They will not need to register, pay, or worry about alternative transportation.

The College Board has shared some test preparation resources, and students will gain access to the Bluebook app on their Chromebooks by September.   Beyond that, students will only need to arrive ready to test with a fully charged Chromebook and power cord.  Students may still use their own calculators, but there is a fully functional Desmos graphing calculator within the testing application.

For any questions regarding accommodated testing, please contact Dan Erlenbaugh, SSD Coordinator.

For anything else, please contact Kevin O’Connor, Testing Coordinator.
