Grayslake Central High School Homecoming Parade Information FRIDAY, SEPT 20, 2024

The Grayslake Police Department has implemented several measures to help ensure a safe and secure parade experience. These include drone surveillance of the parade, new safety barriers and signage to assist with crowd control/parking, and an increased police presence along the parade route.

The parade starts at 4:00 pm from the Whitney St. municipal parking lot west of the police department , proceeds west on Center St., north on Lake St., and concludes at Grayslake Central High School. Most side streets adjacent to the parade route will be closed as early as 3:30 pm today until the conclusion of the parade.

All vehicles parked on Center St. in downtown between Whitney St. and Lake St. must be removed by 3:00 pm. All vehicles parked in the Whitney St. municipal lot must also be removed by 1:00 pm today.

Please help us by doing your part and follow the additional safety guidance listed below.

1. Please remain behind safety barriers and cones at all times.

2. Do not enter the parade route.

3. Do not walk across the parade path or approach the floats/performers, even if a gap occurs.

4. Closely monitor your children during the event.

5. Following the parade, pedestrians should immediately clear the downtown streets and intersections for vehicle traffic.

6. Immediately report any unruly behavior or suspicious activity to the police.
