ACT Prep 24-25

On November 25th, 2024, most juniors at Grayslake Central High School participated in a Practice ACT Exam as a precursor to the ACT assessment that will be administered on April 9th, 2025 to all public high school students enrolled in 11th grade. This college entrance exam is free of charge to all students and the results can be used for college admission purposes.

In an effort to prepare our students for the state-mandated ACT Exam at Grayslake Central High School, we are offering an ACT Prep Program here at GCHS. The program offers classroom instruction (in-person or via Zoom) on ACT test taking strategies and content review of skills assessed by the Exam.  This course, taught by GCHS instructors, provides instruction on each aspect of the ACT Exam with an opportunity to increase testing endurance and reduce test anxiety.

Review courses frequently help to increase scores, in part, through reducing test anxiety. While enrolling in a prep class does not guarantee higher test results, attention to reading comprehension, math skills and increasing testing endurance will often boost student confidence and scores.
